Meeting called to order by President Kevin fisher at 7:40 PM

Minutes:

  • Motion made by D. Hagen seconded by J. Vink to approve Aug. minutes as written. Approved.

Treasurer’s Report:

  • Current balance $226.55
  • County Assoc. is applying for non-profit status through attorney Michael deFreitas, also applying for exemption from filing with IRS for any past years. Discussion on how to pay attorney’s bill.
  • Motion made by Ginny I. seconded by Jim V. to place 3.5% of the 30% check in County Assoc. treasury as well as withhold $75 dues from each club’s check. Approved (this will keep us current on the attorney fees).

Communications: none

District Director’s Report:

  • Ski-Doo promotion: a club can receive $10 for each member visiting a Ski-Doo dealer with coupon
  • Genesee Sno-Packers. has offered to host a fall STEP trail signing training. Thursday Oct. 8 at 7:00pm.

Old Business:

  • Sour Springs Rd. Bridge: Gen. Co. Attorney has told Co. Highway and Town of Alabama that the county cannot support the bridge concept because of liability. We all need to lobby Hawley and our county legislators for adopting a county law.

New Business

  • Motion made by Ken R. seconded by Ginny I. to approve Satellite Step Guidelines for 2009-10 (see attachment).
  • Sponsor deadline for county map – Dec.1
  • CSX farm crossings: These crossings are not approved. Railroad could remove farm crossing if landowner continues to give permission for snowmobile trail crossing. Plan to reroute to a road crossing.
  • Parks wants clubs to get multiyear agreements or easements with landowners but insists on annual agreements with DEC and Canal Corp. Many of the administrators do not want to see us or require signing agreements each year.
  • Norfolk-Southern RR in Alexander. Rails are being removed. No transfer of property yet.
